Dr. Ilan Blau


Biography

Dr. Blau received his medical degree from the Tel-Aviv University in Israel in 2009 and continued for a six year post graduating Otolaryngology, Head & Neck Surgery residency training program,  in Meir Medical Center also affliliated to TAU. He  stayed as an attending surgeon in Meir Medical Center for two more years as well as a consultant in a specialist clinic prior to heading west to Canada, for the Rhinology and Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery 1 year Fellowship program at the Alberta Sinus Center.

Dr. Blau prefers to maintain a wide focus of interest in his research work which included the anatomy of the facial nerve and its implements on parotid surgery. That research project has been awarded as best resident  study for 2014 by the Israeli medical scientific council. Currently his research focuses on novel methods for papillary thyroid cancer treatment as well as accurate measurement of data useful for the endoscopic sinus surgeon.

His wife and three children joined him for his long journey. The Blau’s take advantage of the chilly Alberta weather and do not miss an opportunity for skiing and snowboarding along with other amazing winter activities that Alberta has to offer.
